Hey, Look Over There
At the narrow column on the left side of this page, I mean. See the first entry on that roster of PRs? Notice the date? That's right, I got a new one this past weekend! (The old 5K PR was 19:57, established in August this year.) And Niko was great in the kid 1K. Pictures and a few details later this week.

That's called Takin' It Easy, Danko Style. (How's the Achilles?) Congratulations, Pete

The Achilles is still not quite right, Dan, but it isn't a problem for short races if I do a good warmup. Just a vague sense of tightness. And the next morning it's tight getting out of bed, but it gradually gets better, especially if I get in a daily bike ride.

No doubt, I need some extended time away from running to put the problem to rest. And I will do that. No running in November! No-Run November. Yeah, that's what I'll do.

Until then, just a few more races: a very low-key 3K XC run on Thursday (and Niko may run the 1.5K with the Trillium School XC team!) ... an 8K XC run on Saturday (with real college runners!) ... and then the Run Like Hell 10K on Sunday. It sounds like a lot, but the first two races are on grass, and they're all short, so I think I'll be fine. And I'll have fun.

And then No-Run November....

As someone once said, "The dude abides." I'll add: "And runs, too."
